Servicing NYC and Long Island
Comfort Health’s HCBS department received an informative and eye opening training from Mr. Wertheimer, executive director, with the title “Understanding the Steps It Takes to Accomplish a Goal.”
Every monthly training is designed to help coordinators better understand the challenges and needs of their clients, and in this speech, Mr. Wertheimer prepared a captivating presentation of several common behavioral and mental health diagnoses (such as OCD, PTSD, ADD, ADHD, and more) explaining how a child feels while going through that particular struggle, and how a parent feels watching them.
Lastly, he explained in detail the roles that a care manager, coordinator, and therapist play in helping the child, and demonstrating how HCBS goals enable growth for clients.
“I believe that going forward we’ll have a different view when talking about these diagnoses,” Mr. Shmuel Chaim Tessler, CW-HCBS regional manager (Williamsburg) says.
“Even more than the knowledge, we gained so much from hearing Mr Wertheimer speak about how personal the Comfort Health mission is to him,” Mrs. Gitty Lipschutz, CW-HCBS regional manager (Five Towns) shares. “From the feedback I got, that was the most powerful and inspiring takeaway for many of the coordinators.”
