Servicing NYC and Long Island
When three state auditors arrived at Hamaspik of Kings County for our first comprehensive Agency Review, they discovered what our families already know: an organization where excellence is our daily standard.
The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) conducted an exhaustive review of our operations. The three-day review examined hundreds of documents, from residential services to day programs.
Mr. Shomo Katz, our chief compliance officer, sent and received nearly a thousand emails relating to the audit in the two weeks leading up to it!
“I never imagined an audit — especially one on this scale — could happen so smoothly," reflects our Chief of Staff Mr. Naftali Tessler. “This is the result of the hard work of the OPWDD program directors: Mr. Cheskel Fisher, Mr. Yehuda Spangelet, and Mr. Joel Lefkovits.
“Mr. Katz handled everything steadily and with absolute ownership. HR, led by Mr. Zisha Buxbaum, played a big part, as did Incident Management, under the leadership of Mrs. Toby Walter. And a special thanks to Mrs. Yenty Weber, who assisted with the audit.”
What sets Hamaspik apart is our commitment to combining professional excellence with personal care.
As Mr. Zevy Feldman, our vocational manager, observes, “Throughout this entire audit, I watched Mr. Katz remain calm and professional. His heart is so big, he never misses the chance to offer a good word to the individuals we serve.”
The comprehensive audit demonstrated that we're not just meeting state standards—we're exceeding them. And it reflects our promise that excellence in special needs care will always be our highest priority.
