“Adventure Awaits!”
That was the message on the flyer that the families of Hamaspik clients received several weeks before Succos, letting them know that something special was on the way and that they should stay tuned…
And adventure indeed awaited, on Tuesday of Chol Hamoed, when hundreds of Hamaspik individuals and their families arrived at the Adventureland amusement park for a trip that, for many, was one of the highlights of their Yom Tov.
As families arrived for their assigned shift, Hamaspik staff were on hand to meet and greet, guide them to the welcome desk, scan their tickets, and give out wristbands, along with a pad of 100“Hamaspik dollars” to use for the outdoor games throughout the park.
Surrounded by themed signage and helpful staff, and with the organization and coordination keeping wait times short and lines moving swiftly, the families moved seamlessly through the entrance and onto the real adventure — the park itself.
There was something for all ages at Adventureland, from the rides, to the arcades, to the outdoor games. Hamaspik dollars were put to good use as families tried their hand at the games, many of them walking around the park afterward sporting prizes such as huge teddy bears.
Hamaspik provided two succahs, along with drinks and sandwiches, for the families to be able to stop and refresh themselves during the course of the day.
And Hamaspik volunteers were there throughout it all, manning help desks and lost-and-found stations, greeting and guiding, and ensuring that every individual and family felt cared for. Seeing some familiar faces — or meeting the names behind the faces — was an extra boon for the parents.
“Is my coordinator here today?” many parents asked at the front desk, hoping to meet the person who does so much for their families.
For those employees who gave of their time on Chol Hamoed to be at the park and give hundreds of families simchas Yom Tov, tremendous appreciation is due.
The IT department, and in particular Mr. Shulem Jeremias, Chief Information Officer, worked tirelessly to create and manage the software necessary for the incredibly smooth running of the trip —including unique barcodes and scanners for the tickets, and customizing the Enterprise software so coordinators could easily input data on the clients and families attending the trip, and specifying the shift.
Coordinators and care managers spent time and effort reaching out to each family, registering them in the Enterprise system for their selected shift, and ensuring that the family received their tickets and any information they needed. And the marketing team, directed by Mrs. Chanie Gutman, CMO, designed and created the flyers, tickets, Hamaspik dollars, and signage for the park, all with the magical theme “Adventuring Together.”
Finally and most importantly, tremendous credit is due to Mr. Joseph Moskovits, director of Gifts and Events, and his team. From selecting the location to planning every detail of the trip, from coordinating with park management and staff to arranging the building of the succahs and the ordering of refreshments, Mr. Moskovits, along with secretary Mrs. Miriam Horovitz, and the gifts and events team, ensured that no detail was forgotten and every part of the trip was planned to perfection, to truly give the families an “adventure of a lifetime.”
As one grateful parent shared: “Just wanted to share that we had a GRAND time!! Everything ran so smoothly, and my kids were able to go on endless rides! We really enjoyed the trip!”
